Slimfit writes songs about all the news that’s fit to sing about. Nieces, for example. Or, say, the greatest sandwich ever made. Our latest album, “Make it Worse” is full of songs that move you in all the parts of you that like to be moved.
These Lancaster, PA alt-country boys have been making Amish country proud since being championed by Philadelphia’s WXPN – the nationally recognized leader in Triple A radio – which added Slimfit into regular rotation and snagged the band to headline its inaugural XPN Local Showcase. Fueled in equal parts by punk, country, piss beer and left-handed rock-throwing contests, Slimfit rock the living crapola out of each song on Make it Worse, whether it’s a sweet, dusty ballad or a scorching barroom stomp. The music is deceptively simple, joyously feral – it’s rock-solid songwriting at its most basic and visceral, exploited in all the right ways with cascading Telecasters and a soldiering rhythm section. They even hand-knitted the album cover. What’s not to love?
